Kids will love creating a low-tech cardboard robot of their very own. With easy-to-follow instructions by the wonderful Playful Childhood and movable parts, customise the bot YOUR way to create something truly unique. While we’ve given a list of materials and suggested instructions, be inspired by the materials you have on hand (it’s about ‘making do’, after all).
Bonus points if you can make your creation do a robot dance 😉
Happy making!
Grab your medium box and 4x paper cuts. Using a Scru-Driver and Scrus, attach the cups to the bottom of the medium box to act as feet.
Position the smaller box on top of the medium box with Scrus to create the robot’s head.
Fold your paper plate in half, then use a Scru to attach it to the smaller box for the mouth.
Use the cupcake liners and bottle caps to create your robot’s eyes. Punch a hole in the bottle caps, arrange them on top of the cupcake liner, then attach each above the mouth with a single Scru through the centre.

Add additional Scrus to give your robot buttons or decorate your bot with markers and craft supplies. The opportunities are endless!
Hooray, your robot is finished. Time to try that robot dance 🙂
